The Cisco C9300-NM-8X is a hot-swappable Type-1 uplink expansion network module exclusively designed for Cisco Catalyst 9300 stackable enterprise switches, also backward compatible with Catalyst 3850 modular uplink chassis. Equipped with eight SFP+ multi-rate slots, it delivers flexible 1Gbps or 10Gbps Ethernet connectivity to meet high-density uplink demands for Wi-Fi 6/6E aggregation, server rack interconnection, campus core cross-link, and branch data center edge deployment.
This non-blocking expansion card supports full range of Cisco SFP+ transceivers including 10G fiber optics (SR/LR/ER/ZR) and 10GBASE-T copper modules, alongside standard 1G SFP transceivers. It features tool-free insertion, online hot-swap without chassis reboot, native StackWise-1T/StackWise Virtual integration, and full alignment with Catalyst 9300’s UADP 2.0 ASIC forwarding pipeline for consistent Layer 2/Layer 3, ACL and QoS performance. With low power consumption and enterprise-grade reliability, it provides scalable uplink bandwidth without replacing entire switches, protecting hardware investment for hybrid wired-wireless campus networks.
