Product Introduction
Air-Cooled Laser Welding Machine
An air-cooled laser welding machine is a type of laser welding equipment that adopts air-cooled heat dissipation technology. It controls the temperature of the laser and welding head through the cooperation of high-efficiency turbo fans and cooling fins, ensuring the stable operation of the equipment. Below is a detailed introduction to it:
Features
- Flexible and Convenient Operation: The handheld design frees it from the constraints of fixed positions. Workers can hold the welding machine and move freely around the workpiece, easily handling welding tasks at various complex angles and positions. It is suitable for on-site welding of large metal structural parts and other scenarios.
- Simple Installation and Maintenance: It eliminates the need for a complex water-cooled circulation system, avoiding problems such as water leakage and scale formation that may occur in water-cooled systems. This reduces equipment downtime for maintenance and lowers the costs of installation and long-term upkeep.
- High Cost-Effectiveness: It is relatively affordable. For small processing plants or enterprises new to the field of laser welding, it meets production needs while keeping equipment procurement and operational costs low.
- Excellent Beam Quality: After laser focusing, the power density is high, the focal spot diameter is small, and the heat source is stable and concentrated. Welding produces almost no spatter, and post-weld treatment such as grinding is basically unnecessary, resulting in neat weld seams with smooth transitions and minimal heat-affected zones, thus reducing overall workpiece deformation.
- Lightweight and Portable: Generally, the size and weight of the equipment are much smaller than those of water-cooled laser welding machines—usually less than one-third of the latter. It is easy to carry and operate, adapting to a variety of working environments.
Working Principle
When the trigger switch is pressed, the control system initiates a precise timing sequence. First, the IGBT module converts 380V alternating current into 800V direct current. Then, a resonant circuit generates high-frequency pulses to excite the laser diode array. The generated laser beam is transmitted through an optical fiber coupler and finally projected accurately onto the workpiece surface via a set of gold-plated reflectors. The metal material undergoes a phase change from solid to liquid and then to gas in a very short time, and the shielding gas shapes the molten metal into a desired weld seam.
Application Fields
- Metal Processing: It can be used for welding staircases, elevators, shelves, stainless steel doors, windows, guardrails, etc., and can perfectly replace traditional argon arc welding.
- Electronics Industry: It is suitable for welding precision electronic components such as stainless steel watch cases of smart watches. The small heat-affected zone ensures the performance of the components.
- Medical Devices: It is applicable to the connection of titanium alloy orthopedic implants and other medical parts, preventing the degradation of tissue compatibility caused by high temperatures.
- Jewelry Processing: It enables seamless welding of precious metals with invisible welding spots, without affecting the aesthetics of the jewelry.
- Automotive Manufacturing: It can be used for welding automotive components such as body structural parts and engine parts.
