Deskripsi Produk
Linear water-soluble polymer compounds are one of the most widely used types of water-soluble polymers. Polyacrylamide and its derivatives are collectively referred to as polyacrylamide. The molecular formula of pure polyacrylamide is (CH2CHCONH2)n. Polyacrylamide is a white powder, non-toxic, and has good thermal stability at 100°C, but it will decompose into nitrogen gas when the heating temperature is too high (above 150°C); it is easily soluble in water and has hygroscopicity, and is insoluble in common organic solvents (such as benzene, esters, and acetone, etc.). Polyacrylamide has good biocompatibility and high viscosity, and can be well mixed with common surfactants. Its degree of polymerization can reach 10,000 to 90,000, and the corresponding molecular weight can reach 1.5 million to 6 million. Its coagulation effect lies in its strong adsorption on the surface of colloids, forming bridges between colloids.
Polyacrylamide is directly polymerized from the monomer acrylamide. Acrylamide and its polymers can all dissolve in water, so the solution polymerization method is more convenient to use. Potassium persulfate or ammonium persulfate can be used as initiators, or redox initiators can also be used. After the polymerization reaction is completed, sodium nitrite or urea should be added as molecular regulators and stabilizers. The main forms of polyacrylamide products include aqueous solution, powdered solid, and latex-like. They can be of non-ionic, anionic, and cationic types. Polyacrylamide is mainly used in suspensions with inorganic substances or high turbidity water (with sand content of 10 to 100 kg/m³) for coagulation and sedimentation. It can be used alone or in combination with coagulants. When used in combination, polyacrylamide should be added first, and then the coagulant should be added after thorough mixing. Polyacrylamide and its derivatives have wide applications and can be used as effective flocculants, thickening agents, enhancers, and surfactants, and are applied in water treatment, papermaking, petroleum, mining, geology, textiles, and light industry, etc.
