LED anti-fog mirror specifications and installation tutorial

Created on 2025.05.06
In fact, in our bathroom, we often find that the mirror is foggy, so it is very inconvenient to use it. Now, in order to solve this problem, there is already a design of LED anti-fog mirror. If this kind of LED anti-fog mirror can be used in the bathroom, it can greatly reduce the occurrence of this situation. So now many people's homes are also starting to use these LED anti-fog mirrors. There are various brands of LED anti-fog mirrors on the market, and there is still a price difference, so many people don’t know how to buy them.
In fact, as long as everyone has mastered some basic selection conditions, there is no need to worry about such a problem. In fact, many people will be able to deeply feel the effect of this product after using it for a period of time. In fact, when purchasing, everyone can directly do an anti-fog test on the spot, and can use some of our spray bottles for a simple test. If the water droplets can not stick to the mirror surface, then this brand of LED anti-fog mirror is good.
Anti-fog film, LED anti-fog mirror installation base surface treatment
  1. When installing the LED anti-fog mirror, you should first check whether the base surface is solid, flat, and whether there are sharp protrusions. If the base surface is not solid, such as the gypsum board base surface, the keel must be embedded in advance to fix it, and the base surface must be flat.
  2. If there are hard objects such as tiles, marble, metal, and glass mosaics around, a soft gasket with a thickness of about 2mm should be padded at the lower edge of the lens. Because the LED anti-fog mirror expands due to heat, if there is not enough clearance, the LED anti-fog mirror is very easy to break.
  3. If silicone/double-sided tape is used for application and mirror nails are used for fixing, the LED anti-fog mirror will be close to the wall or base board, and the base surface needs to reserve outlets, wire tubes, and dark boxes to lead out the power cord of the LED anti-fog mirror.
Anti-fog film, LED anti-fog mirror installation steps:
  1. Choose an anti-fog film of appropriate size according to the size of the mirror, installation method, anti-fog effect, etc.
  2. After removing the anti-fog film according to the instructions on the outer packaging, if you have a multimeter, you can adjust it to the resistance range to test the inner core wire of the power cord. The pointer shakes or the digital display is normal. Products that have been stored for a long time or deformed must be tested first to make sure they are not damaged before use.
  3. Place the anti-fog film in the appropriate position on the back of the mirror, make a mark, take off the release paper, and two people pull the anti-fog film flat to align it with the mark, and apply it from one end, with no warping and no bubbles. If the size of the anti-fog film you choose is the same as the lens, and the shape is also oval or round, you can use a utility knife to cut off the excess part after the anti-fog film is flat. It should be noted that if you choose a resistance wire anti-fog film, you must be extra careful when operating it. Once it is damaged, the entire anti-fog film will be scrapped.
  4. When installing an LED anti-fog mirror, the power cord can be routed through the reserved wire tube, and a separate switch can be set or it can be connected in parallel with the front light of the mirror to share a switch. LED anti-fog mirrors can be fixed with mirror nails, etc., and sealed with neutral sealant around to keep the inside of the mirror dry, clean, and free of oil, to prevent the mercury layer on the back of the mirror from being corroded and affecting the adhesion of the anti-fog film back glue.
  5. After the LED anti-fog mirror is installed, it can be used after about 5 minutes of power on. The temperature rise of PET-carbon-based film-anti-fog film/-carbon fiber anti-fog film can be adjusted appropriately and autonomously. If powered on for a long time, the temperature on the surface of the LED anti-fog mirror will stop rising after it reaches the design value. However, if it is a resistance wire type anti-fog film, long-term heating will not only waste energy, but also accelerate the aging of the PVC anti-fog film, accelerate the oxidation of the resistance wire, and shorten the service life of the LED anti-fog mirror.
Precautions
  1. Do not pull the power cord hard to prevent damage to the circuit.
  2. Do not cut or open holes by yourself, and prevent mechanical damage.
  3. It is best to install in an environment above 10℃. The back of the mirror and the film surface should be dry and clean, and be careful of water vapor.
  4. The sealant must be neutral. Do not use acidic or alkaline sealants to avoid damaging the silver coating of the mirror.
  5. The wires are led out from the preset outlet. The power cord should be prevented from curling behind the mirror, which will cause the mirror surface to be installed unevenly.
  6. When the LED anti-fog mirror is working, the lens may expand slightly. When installing, consider leaving an elastic margin of more than 1mm on the edge of the mirror.
