- Evaluate Long-Term Supply Stability
Pharmaceutical packaging qualification requires time and resources. Once a supplier has been approved, changing suppliers frequently is usually inefficient.
For this reason, procurement teams should also evaluate long-term factors such as production capacity, communication efficiency, technical support, documentation capability and the ability to maintain consistent quality between different production batches.
A slightly lower unit price may not create real savings if it results in unstable dimensions, repeated testing or supply interruptions.
The objective should be to establish a supply system that remains predictable as purchasing volumes increase.
